Can we talk about carnage heart onyx amulet for a second

Hey all,
So as im still super new to the game things like carnage heart onyx amulet are still new to me, is the one i have, im thinking about getting one with better stats but is it as good as it seems, the 25% reducution in life at first seemed like alot but the 10% leech and what could be 17-20%+ all res seems to outweigh it. what thoughts have u got on this? are there better pieces out there that are still budget friendly? So much life leech is only useful when you have Vaal Pact and when you have Vaal Pact you usually have enough DPS that you will heal to full in no time with a rare amulet with a life leech roll, this amulet ain't better than a vampire's onyx amulet of variegation, which leaves a lot to desire from it. If you had one with top rolls, it would still be worse than a 3 t1 rare amulet.

Don't listen to him. A rare amulet with 3x resists, life leach and as much all stats with cost 10x than carnag heart. It is a very good budget option. Also 10% lifeleach is very nice when you don't have insane dps.

The only reason why anyone gives a damn about Carnage heart is because of the life leech. You have maximum roll for that and that is good enough.

" A Rare Onyx with +Life and 5-6% Leech quickly outstrips it in my opinion, especially if it has even one decent Resist. Not losing Life but instead getting a bonus to it makes a huge difference to your Life pool, a difference of hundreds. A replacement doesn't have to be top-tier due to Carnage Heart penalising your most important pool. Until then it's fine, and for leveling purposes it's definitely solid (for just leveling you wouldn't bother getting a better one). |

Now let's do a meh meh amulet, poe.trade here we go (6% life leech amulet only criteria), for 3 chaos, doom locket amber amulet with 20 str which is meh, 6% life leech which easily allows you to get to the cap and 43% cold res, if you really need the stats you can craft some, or you can craft another res, or life, or ES and have a superior piece of gear overall for dirt cheap. Honour noose gold amulet, 13% all res, 20% cold res, 6% life leech, 16% IIR and craftable life or ES, 4 chaos. Plz shut up. Budget option in standard? Budget options in standard are better than that piece of trash. Unless you for some weird reason really, really need the stats and can't afford to have them anyhow else you're better with a dirt cheap rare amulet with good life leech. |

A blow-by-blow identical 6% rare amulet is a billion times more expensive, sure, but if you don't need the attributes or resists (or if you can easily get them back without too much investment), the cheapest 6% leech rare amulet you can find will be much better due to the extra life.

kinda weak as you take such a penalty to life. its ok as a leveling item in softcore but i sure wouldnt use it in hc.
