Add Crossplay between xbox and PC

I made a thread about this a while ago. Although the verdict was to separate both player bases.

I still feel it would be beneficial to allow PC and Xbox players to party together when they are friended. If you can friend console players you know, allow them to join your instances, even if this means setting up another server.

This should be possible if both the PC and client versions are the same. However UI modification may give some players the advantage/disadvantage when playing in their respective realms.

This type of feature should definitely be considered. Especially if you decide to port this game to even more platforms in the future like PS4, MAC, Linux, or even mobile phones like android.

Of course. If GGG could wave a magic wand and make that possible, they would jump at the chance. It would mean a single, larger playerbase which would be good for Path of Exile players on both platforms (particularly those who are part of the smaller community currently).

They aren’t the same.

They’re different for technical reasons which have no easy way of being overcome.

Why would the UI change? There’s no reason for it to.

This is the problem with this thread - and while I haven’t seen it, I suspect the same of your previous one. GGG didn’t decide that they want the playerbase to be split. They were just incapable of making a single, unified one feasible. You’re attempting to sell them on something which they already want to do, while seemingly either dismissing - or not being aware of - the reasons they didn’t do what you suggest in the first place. I’m not sure what the goal of the thread is.

I am unaware of any plans to implement an alternative to DirectX.

This will never, and cannot, be done.

There is a rumor going around that the Xbox has mouse and keyboard support integrated in the firmware, but not currently enabled. If this is the case, then the PC version should be available on the Xbox one.

Xbox does use a modified version of windows 10. So it should be possible to do if Mappable keys become thing some day on there.

@Sarno the UI change i was talking about is the difference between the menu and control settings between Xbox and PC. One has a fixed controller profile, the PC you can map and customize anything. That is how the menu and UI systems would give the PC player an advantage over an Xbox player.
+1 on this. Would be awesome to switch between PC and sofa + 55" TV whenever you want 🖤
