Choppy FPS when using second monitor
Windows 10 latest updates
Nvidia 970 GTX drivers latest POE latest windowed fullscreen gsync Ever since either 3.3 or 3.4 I started having this issue where if I have any windows open on my second monitor, the FPS bounces back and forth from 144 fps to 30 fps. The strange thing is that I have a third monitor which does not cause this same issue. This did not used to happen to me, I used to be able to keep other windows up on my second monitor without it impacting my frame rate. I think this has something to do with windowed fullscreen and gsync. It could be a Windows issue but it only started happening in the past 3-6 months without any other significant changes to the system other than updating it. Please let me know if I could provide more information that would be helpful so that I can use my second monitor while playing POE again! It sucks having to minimize all the windows on that screen in order to have a normal FPS. I figured out that it has something to do with anything moving on the other screen. In this case the tiny little visualizer as part of my music player was moving around and causing my FPS to go insane. If I either hide or minimize any windows which have video playing or graphic animation, then I get smooth FPS. At any point any graphics change on any one of my spare monitors, I get massive FPS spikes from 144 down to 30.

I came across this discussion which suggests to turn VSYNC off:
https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/5cj6u1/144hz60hz_dual_monitor_setup_game_stuttering/ After turning VSYNC off in POE settings (and leaving GSYNC on) I now have a steady FPS when other things are going on other monitors. This has introduced a new problem where if I alt-tab out of POE and it is no longer the "active" window in Windows, then the FPS spikes up from 144 which is what it should be (to match my gsync monitor refresh rate hz) up to 250 FPS. This causes POE to work my GPU when in the background for no good reason. I will file a separate bug report for that. IGN @dime

Rule #1: You should disable Vsync when using Gsync!
But actually I can second that problem. For me it is unplayable. When my second monitor is enabled, I have these Spikes as well, please have my screenshot attached. ![]() I don't have these problems in Dota2 for example. Must have been introduced with the latest POE/Nvidia/Windows updates. Can anyone from GGG confirm this? |

" I feel like it was around 3.3 or 3.4 launch that I started noticing the problem. Here is the other thread I posted which suggests how this could be fixed: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2249200 IGN @dime
