Constant "Unexpected disconnection ocurred"

I play PoE via the Steam client and it was fine for the last 2 weeks. Since today, I get constant disconnects where my ping graph flatlines and after 4-5 seconds I get dced with "Unexpected disconnection occured". It happens in hideout,in town, in maps, everywhere. It also happens so fast (sometimes instant after login, sometimes after 1 min) that I absolutely can't play anymore.

I tried using --noasync, I tried -waitforpreload. Nothing helps. I am currently reinstalling, but I don't expect it to change a thing. Does anyone have advice?

same problem here , have to launch the game 4 times before i can actually play, and i have one chance on two to disconnect on a loading screen.I have seen hundreds of people complaining of this(here and on steam forum)It is really a pain especially when you start mapping, and you loose portals to your map because of it.its basically a little game-breaking as you can loose stuff because of it , maybe time GGG woke up and do something about it.
same thing has been happening to a lot of people i've done all i can to rectify the issue. running the game through a vpn helped but the lag become unbearable.

It got to the point where i've given up and uninstalled. really like this league but having all of support off during the holiday periods was incredibility short sighted...

Same issue here. During Delve this issue started happening, but was bearable (~3-5x per day). Now in Betrayal it happens more and more again.
My theory is that in some situations the games tries to still fetch a lot of data at once, that noasync and nopreload cannot stop. It somehow clusters this data and tries to push it all through the network at once. If you dont have a high end pc, this clustered data packet seems to be responible for the DC.

Switching from Directx9EX to Directx9 seemed to lower the amount of disconnects like this for me.
Do you play from Europe with Vodafone as isp? It used to be an issue in the past and now it seems to be back, at least for me

I have T-mobile as ISP, if that answer helps you.
