PS4 finding quest?

I enjoy this game but are there markers to find quest locations, i spend nearly 30 minutes trying to find the mud flat? I also tried going to the map and clicking the quest but that doesn't give me a waypoint to the location of the quest.

Hi and welcome to Path of Exile.
Unfortunately a couple of quests are confusing or it's not clear where you are supposed to go and a few even have you go travel between acts. Mud Flats is easy to find though. At the end of the first real zone "The Coast" there is a waypoint and nearby are two zone exits. One to Tidal Island which is a dead end with a quest and the other forward to Mud Flats. Mud Flats doesn't have it's own teleporter waypoint by the way. You can tell by looking at the zone icon on the world map. Empty circle means no waypoint, circle with a small blue dot is a zone with a waypoint you haven't activated yet, and circle filled with blue means you have the waypoint for this zone.

But all quests in PoE can be done at any time (as in you don't need to get them from a quest giver first) and when you're in doubt what to do, just move on, go through any zone you haven't been and kill, explore and loot. You'll stumble on quests and reveal more of the world map so the quest info makes more sense.
