Scion or Witch summoner?

Haven't played PoE for a long time. Am coming back to play it now and realised that my witch was given a free skill reset. I am wondering what's the consensus on a scion summoner build? If it's perceived to be better, I might use my witch for something else and level a scion for summoning instead.

Ultimately, they only differ by 5-10 points ish.

play scion for multiple reasons....these probly stand out more than others.

increased duration passive access.
life globe access.

scion has a better bee-line to MI, which is vital for beginning off with being a summoner. however, scion has a slightly harder time getting to the minion group inside witch's starting point. other than reaching the skill duration node group, there's relatively no other differences.

if u wanna look ugly, play scion. if u wanna look badass, play witch :)

i made a scion summoner because*

better start, the witch has awful starting nodes even with lord of the undead (which is pointless because for the first 30 levels you will be rocking a sword)

getting that 80% mana regen and the 1% life leech on the way to the skill highway is glorious.

scion hes better access to the aura nodes and as an added benefit all but the dex aura node are on the same skill highways you take to get to minion nodes.

as for the scion having a hard time getting to the witch starting minion nodes , that isnt necessarily true.

especially if you use minion flasks the three 10 flask nodes are pretty good.


the witch has to waste more nodes getting intelligence nodes as she is forced to basically take the 5ish nodes under the curse bubble on her way to the templar side of the tree.

witch gets better gem rewards.

i didnt actually bother with the scion life bubble if you can believe that.


but if you notice if i were to not take the 4 mana nodes leading to shaper and the 4 nodes leading to the harrier and instead took the 5 int nodes under the curse bubble , i would free up 1 node if i were to play witch
