Cannot log in to one of my characters

Hi,
I was playing on my level 86 ranger on Nemesis and got logged out by the game at some point when I was switching towns earlier. After that I couldn't log in to the game on the same character again. Every time I tried logging this particular character on, I would get to the loading part, then the game would bring me back to the character selection page and the list of characters would be blank with a spinning icon going on forever. However, I have no issues logging into the game on my other characters. Please advise. Thanks. I am not a bro.

If you do NOT use Steam to play PoE:
Can you try running the PackCheck.exe file in the Path of Exile folder as admin (right-click and select "Run as Administrator")? After that is run, if any errors were reported, then run the PathOfExile.exe the same way (right-click and "Run as Administrator"). You can also try running the GGPK Defrag application linked in the Consolidated Technical sticky post which will reduce the file size and perhaps make loading faster and less likely to timeout or cause other issues. If you're using Steam, don't do any of the above. Simply re-verify your cache/installation for Path of Exile and see if it fixes the problem. |

Thanks, Drakier! I have done what you suggested and I managed to log in to that character now.

It says "Failed to connect to instance" on the bottom left of the character selection page. Please help.

It's weird that it would only affect one character though unless it was some specific setting/item on that character causing the problem.

Yeah I find it weird too. The last thing I did on that character when I got booted by the game was only looking at the NPC vendors and was switching between towns. v.v I am not a bro.

I believe this issue has something to do with the log in servers, though I don't know why.
What I just did: Gateway America: Doesn't work for this particular character for some reason but works for others(though I didn't try to log in every single characters I have). Europe: I managed to log into this character as well as others(did not try every single one either). Australia: Couldn't even log in the account from that. So yeah, I can get onto that ranger now only by using the European server. I am not a bro.

Update:
It's mind boggling. Now America server decides to let me log in to this character. It is getting complicated just to play a simple game. I am not a bro.
