Elemental Weapon Damage - Need Mana/Life Leech Options
Hi,
Is there any plan to add more Leech options for Elemental Damage DEALT WITH weapons? Right now, the only way to sustain survival through leech is with physical damage OR: - Life leech Gem - Mana Leech Gem - Unique belt (1%) - Corrupted Implicits There is no passive node, common gear stat, curse, buff or any other resource in favor for WED users. Is there a reason behind this? If not, is this something that could be improved? Elemental weapons are already heavily and negatively affect by pretty much all in-game defenses aside armor (evasion, block, doge, resistances, you name it) so we need to squeeze damage from every and each of the linked slots - can't afford gemming it with leechs in end-game (pure elemental weapon damage works until level 72 maps, but then, get too heavily mitigated). Suggestion: • Replace all "% Physical damage leeched as Life" and "% Physical damage leeched as Mana" with "% Damage dealt with weapons leeched as life" and "% Damage dealt with weapons leeched as mana". • Replace Physical Leeching from Blood Rage Buff to "Dealt with Weapon" one. Why should they make it even easier to heal? Why would they do something for 1 support gem? Makes no sense. Leech works for spells just fine, and weapon ele damage mist have some kind of drawback if you want to use it since it can be really strong.

" I`m not talking about the support gem, but elemental damage based weapons. There are some unique weapons that exclusively relly on elemental damage, such as Oro Sacrifice. It doens`t do any more damage than an equivalent physical version. When you use one of this weapons, every single melee leech resource (blood rage, leech from gear, leech from nodes, etc) are exclusive to physical. So you get stuck with Leech gems. It`s not going to make anything OP. |

Changing the 2 node that give 2% leech (life or mana) from "2% xxxx leech from physical damage" to "2% xxxx leech from global damage" would make it possible.

As there are ways to get ele buzzsaw build (and similar ones) going - either BM gem or Eldrich battery would be the two most common IMO - I don't think there is a need for mana leech from ele damage other than mana gem. Honestly if there was such way I would see no reason to use phys damage ever. I see the balance there as it is atm.

ele damage is easier to stack and has elemental effects, you cant have it all

They could make an unique item or keystone passive with its one set of drawback. The problem is not to implement but to balance this. Something like XX% less maximum Mana/Life leech applies to elemental damage instead.

If you are looking for a drawback, how about the fact that Elemental Damage dealt with weapons is affected by block, evasion (just like physical) and Resistances (in a far more mitigating way then armor). Resistances are already that draw back. The request here wouldn't be gamebreaking for anyone. Some simple act could solve the problem like: • Replace all "% Physical damage leeched as Life" and "% Physical damage leeched as Mana" with "% Damage dealt with weapons leeched as life" and "% Damage dealt with weapons leeched as mana". • Replace Physical Leeching from Blood Rage Buff to "Dealt with Weapon" one. |
