Divine Orb question

so a nice armor dropped for me

and i used 5 divines on it. the changes in each value were so minor (max 5%) that eigther i am very unlucky or i dont grasp the concept of the orb..

i thought this orb would randomize the values on the rare item but a change of max 5% is hardly random. or do i missunderstand something about this orb?

It rerolls the value of mods, as expected. But, only within the range of a mod. For example:
Resplendent 75 Local Energy Shield 136 to 145 - if that mod is on an item, a divine orb will reroll between 136 and 145. Same goes for any other mod on that item.

yeah but vaal regalia is an lvl 68 item which can roll way above 100% increase to energy shield.. and yet everytime i used a divine the value changed max for 5%...

i am aware of the limitations for specific prefixes/suffixes.
my question was simply if i understood something wrong, but i guess i was just unlucky with my attempts which is a shame cause 5 div orbs = 15gcp :/

Nonono, your item can't change its prefixes or suffixes from a divine orb.
It keeps the exact same prefixes/suffixes... a "Protective" prefix (+11%-28% es) will stay a "Protective" prefix, and can't ever become a "Dauntless" prefix (+83%-100% es). The divine orb would just reroll the "Protective" suffix between its 11% and 28% range. They're only good for when you already have an item with perfect affixes and want to get perfect rolls on all those affixes.

The modifier limits the range of the roll. You need a different modifier to roll in the range you are thinking of.

None of the mods have that big of a range. You can see them here:

45% would be a Strong-Willed prefix, which ranges from 29 to 46.
In order to get 100% you'd need a Dauntless prefix, which ranges from 83 to 100.
Since divine orbs can't change prefixes, if you currently have a Strong-Willed prefix roll of 45%, there's no way to change that into a Dauntless prefix to get 100%.
