Scion with bow (like ranger) in HC

Hi, I'm new in game but definitively, I love to play in hardcore game, so much fun :)

I would love to begin a warrior with bow, but don't know if I must take the ranger (probably easy choice) or the Scion.

I would love to know from old and experimented players if is it great to play a "Ranger Scion".

I mean, the ranger is always better than the Scion with bow or it's possible to create a powerful Scion ?

I will play in Hardcore solo loot (I know, I will never reach endgame) :) :)
