[3.6] Ancestral Warchief Champion - BUT CRIT! ||| 10m+ dps | Uber Lab, Uber Atziri, Uber Elder down.

Hi there!

Why this build exists
This build is an extension on the common Facebreaker Ancestral Warchief build which is prized as a bosskiller for early league.
The second reason is that sometimes you just want to take common builds to the top of their potential.

It extends the normal Ancestral Warchief build utilising the RT keystone (Resolute Technique) and instead becomes a CRIT build, mainly by using the Rigwald's Curse unique amulet.

As with many current-patch Facebreaker builds, this build is carried by Abyssal Jewels - most obviously the "Adds # to # Physical Damage to Attacks" modifier, though we also make use of "#% increased Attack Speed", "+#% to Global Critical Strike Multiplier", and "#% increased Critical Strike Chance if you haven't dealt a Critical Strike recently". That last jewel mod only works because OUR CHARACTER is not the one dealing the damage, the totems are.

Slot-by-Slot Gear Guide

Slot-by-Slot
Each section is in order of usefulness.

Helms

Helm
Abyssus Ezomyte Burgonet - MASSIVE amounts of phys to attacks, 125 Crit Multi, and needed Attributes. Pretty much the perfect helm for this build! Only downside is the Increased Physical Damage Taken - you should try to minimise this.

Deidbellow - This helm gives us good phys to attacks, 20% increased melee damage, and 20% Attack, Cast, and Movement speed if you have warcried recently.

Rare Helm - Fill out your resistances, life, %life, and if possible, "Nearby Enemies take 9% increased Physical Damage".

Body Armor

Body Armor
Loreweave - The best chest for unarmed. Massive phys to attacks, up to 60% Global Critical Strike Chance, 50% Elemental Damage, good life and attributes, and also "Your Maximum Resistances are 78%. This last roll is the most important.

Urse-version Yriel's Fostering - This chest gives a good amount of phys to attacks, life, and accuracy (though this accuracy will only be used on your first hit on each enemy). This chest is rare at league start - mainly because it only drops from the Pale Council fight.

Belly of the Beast - Huge amounts of life, 15 all res. Generally a good defensive chest.

RARE BODY ARMOURS
Rare body armours can provide ridiculous boosts to attack builds due to Elder Body Armours. See this:

This chest enables you to run curse-on-hit Vulnerability corrupted Facebreakers, for a big damage boost. It also gives us a ton of crit, and reduces the mana issues caused by running this build.

Gloves

Gloves
Facebreakers - the whole reason this build exists. As soon as you can buy/wear these you should.

Boots

Boots
Bubonic Trail - 2 slots for Abyssal Jewels (5-8 phys to attacks each, and life), 30% movement speed, and destroys bodys while you walk, giving you resistance to Detonate Dead totems and strongboxes. Also gives 10% increased damage per abyssal jewel on your build (we get 9).

Rare boots are next best - Get movement speed, resistances, and life in that order.

Shields

Shields
Great Old One's Ward - phys to attacks, attack speed, life, block, and move speed. This shield is just perfect for this build.

Lycosidae - This shield becomes worse than Great Old One's Ward as soon as you get your Worthy Foe Ascendancy point. Until then, use it over Great Old One's Ward since it gives you 100% hit chance.

Rare Shaper Shields - +1 totems is now no longer a crafted mod, and now resides in the pool of Shaper shield mods. Shaper shields can also have "Socketed Gems have #% reduced Mana Reservation". This enables us to add Empower to our Herald of Ash and Hatred for some juicy damage increases.

Belts

Belts
Rare Stygian Vise - best in slot due to having an abyss jewel slot but also space for a bunch of resistances, life and elemental damage with attacks. Something like this:

Alternatively just use Meginords Girdle or a Rare Leather Belt.

Amulets

Amulets
Rigwald's Curse - this is the only option, you need to get unarmed base crit, and it turns claw damage into unarmed damage.

Rings

Rings
1x Rare Shaper Steel Ring - curse enemies with Assassins Mark on hit is super good. Try to get phys to attacks and life, or just multimod the Assassins Mark on Hit mod.

1x Rare Steel Ring - get as high phys to attacks as possible, then fill out resistances and life.

Alternatively you can use other rare rings with t2/t1 phys to attacks rolls, but they will never beat a Steel Ring.

Flasks

Flasks
Lion's Roar - This flask is the strongest melee flask in the game - massive more multiplier, and knocks back enemies from you when used. Also gives some armour.

Taste of Hate - Gives you 20% of your physical damage as extra Cold Damage, and also turns incoming physical damage to cold damage, which is mitigated well by the additional Loreweave resistances.

Atziri's Promise - Gives 20% of your physical damage as extra chaos damage, and gives some of your elemental damage which you created with Hatred, Taste of Hate and Herald of Ash to Chaos Damage.

Diamond Flask - Rolls the critical strike dice TWICE. Usually a good increase to effective crit chance.

Life Flask - Get either Panicked or Seething, with bleed removal as a suffix.

I would recommend using Sin's Rebirth as a replacement for Atziri's Promise in league, as it is more damage, and provides immunity to burning.

Jewels

Jewels
This is a list of mods in scale of most important to least important.
Adds # to # Physical Damage to Attacks
+# to maximum Life
#% increased Critical Strike Chance if you haven't dealt a Critical Strike Recently
#% to Global Critical Strike Multiplier
#% increased Attack Speed
#% chance to Blind Enemies on Hit with Attacks
Resistances
Attributes

And of course you need a Spire of Stone jewel to give your totems Stun Immunity.

Labs

For Hardcore Players, I would recommend pathing towards Fortitude through Unstoppable Hero in Normal and Cruel Lab.
Then, in Merciless and Uber Lab you should path to Conqueror and Worthy Foe.

Pantheon

Soul of the Brine King for moderately good stun immunity and chill resistance.
Soul of Shakari for immunity to poison and resistance to chaos degens.

Bandits

Alira because we need the resist BAD.

Hey! Nice Guide and thank you!
Could it be, that you made a mistake with the Bandit in your Guide? You wrote Kraitlyn for Resis, but Alira is the Bandit for Resis.

Levelling is pretty simple - level as sunder all the way to maps, then buy the some non-crit uniques (Meginods, Facebreaker, Deidbell), get Ancestral Bond, and have some fun.

Sorry, no - I play on a potato laptop and this is more of a glass cannon build than something that can facetank while lagging.
