POE2 Failed to create resource for texture

At random points while playing, the game will freeze. I can hear skills and movement happening however my character is frozen still. If I wait long enough I get the following message after the game crashes to the desktop.

Seeing the same thing: just installed latest nVidia drivers; have tried just about every texture related setting. Usually happens with multiple lightning spells in progress.
