PoE 2 - Act 3 Travel to Cruel Difficulty - Gateway NOT Working

I've killed Doryani twice, but the gateway that's supposed to take me to Cruel difficulty is not working. It does not take me to the present Ziggurat encampment either.

Help please?

I have the exact same issue.

I killed Doryani on second difficulty, then traveled back to "Ziggurat Encampment (Past)" and clicked on him. It then did send me to "The Ziggurat Refuge (Past)" with the whole Cataclysm storyline and the introduction of the map device.

I decided to not do this for now after talking to all NPCs and wanted to travel to the third difficulty, "Cruel". As I could not go back to "Ziggurat Encampment (Present)" via the gateway at "Ziggurat Encampement (Past)", I ported to "Jungle Ruins (Present)" and fought my way to the entry to "Ziggurat Encampment (Present)", which indeed did bring me to that version of the place. The gateway is also open and if I go through it, I end up in "Ziggurat Encampment (Past)" but without the gateway active.

I can repeat this process how often I want, nothing changes. Never do I get to difficulty "Cruel".
Going to log in screen or even disconnecting does not help. When I connect again, I am always in "Ziggurat Encampment (Past)".

Update 2025-02-19 10:50:07: So, turns out I needed to attempt one run at the Temple of Chaos. Then the gateway did work and ported me back to The Riverbank on Cruel.
