Detonator Placement on Expedition Unresponsive

Placing explosives on Expedition seems to be "hex or block-locked" instead of allow you to move the cursor smoothly around to a suitable location you have to either walk around for the cursor to move or nudge the stick repeatedly to get it in the desired location.

replying here to push the issue up. Playing on PS5 and detonator placement for Expeditions works very badly, often resulting in nodes being completely unreachable with the placement cursor.

when moving the placement cursor around using the right analog stick, it seemingly gets stuck in fixed positions, jerkily moving around sometimes when the character is moved instead. depending on the map and how/where the Expedition area is generated, the Expedition can sometimes be pretty much unusable because most nodes cannot be reached with the cursor.
