turn logging off / improve it

in the folder : C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Path of Exile 2\logs =========> Client.txt

this .txt file is currently a forever growing file which could get corrupted or very large and hard to open.
The design can be improved in many ways.. currently among client information and debug information the whole chat gets logged.
This leads to a forever growing Client.txt file.

I tried to delete the file while the game was running and I could not, only after closing the game, it seems that the file is accessed by the game engine when the game starts and never closed.

The .txt file had millions of characters and was logging since early December 2024.
The .txt file had in my case 98mB.

There are some things that can be done if logging is desired:
1) log the chat on your server side.
2) turn of logging of the chat locally on the pc.
3) keep logging like this but set up some sort of cleanup mechanism
I'm sure there are other options as well that can be considered

if the chat has been active, after about 15minutes, every single line that goes to chat peaks the cpu and frame time graphs. if you let it go for a long time, it will even eat ~1 fps and create a micro stutter every line.

it goes away after typing /cls (until it comes back again)


i didnt think a line of text in a chat could intimidate my computer in 2025 but here we are lol

*closing all chats doesnt help, the chat still knows it's happening.

**i would love if we had the option to turn off local logging as well. it feels weird to know that my game acts as a keylogger of all my ingame convos for anyone with access to my computer. i'm pretty sure they log on their side and thats fine, i dont want it on my side tho.

***if you have spicy/weird convos in this game, don't let your partner/kid/family/whatever touch your computer before deleting client.txt correctly ;)
