Unable to access Trials of Sekhemas

Problem:
Unable to access Trials of Sekhemas due to not having "proper quest state"


How to reproduce:
Complete first run through of "Ascent to Power" quest in Traitor's Passage.
Kill Balbala to drop quest item.
PICK UP AND DROP QUEST ITEM, THEN LOSE INSTANCE, therefore losing quest item WITHOUT using Desert map to open Trial of Sekhemas.


Result:
Trial of Sekhemas option not available in Desert map, unable to teleport to party members in Trial of Sekhemas. Never able to access Trial of Sekhemas with this particular character.


Attempted:
-Opening new instance and killing Balbala again, quest item does NOT drop.
-Running quest with someone who has not completed quest, however quest item does NOT drop.
-Teleporting to party members in Trial of Sekhemas, however UNABLE due to not having "proper quest state"
