PC controller behaviors

Hello GG,

Great work on the game.

Could you all rethink what happens when a controller loses power or falls asleep? I've experienced several times where I was logged out of the game just because the controller went to sleep.

To me, that's not the right way, especially since there is something already in-game that pauses the game when the controller connection is lost (e.g., low battery) and prompts the player to reconnect the controller, giving ample time to hook it up to a wire.

Why can't it be like that all the time? I know the difference between the 2 where the former happens when I'm in a safe zone like the home base and the latter happens when I'm in the middle of combat, okay? Well I was in the middle of a map and had to return to the base to empty my inventory. I paused the game to receive a delivery and came back to the screen telling me I was logged out because the controller disconnected.

That's kind of dumb to me, to be honest. Especially when you had option #2 to just wait on the player to power the controller. Like all the punishment mechanics you insist to have in the game (massive XP loss on death), this is one "feature" that shows that you all do not seem to care about how valuable your players' time is.

Everything about your game takes time and effort, yet you all nonchalantly are ok with players getting their investment of time and effort wiped out for what I feel are arbitrary reasons.

While we're on the part of controllers, you mapped clicking L3 to show advanced details of an item and activating the filter field if there is one on the left panel (e.g., Vendor dialog).

Advanced views are not as complete as the ones in keyboard and mouse.

Lastly, it's 2025. There are methods out there that allow a controller, keyboard and mouse to coexist in a game and hot-switch depending on what was activated (button on controller, key on keyboard, button on mouse).Surely, with your amazingly talented team, this can be implemented? So instead of logging players out just because the controller fell asleep, you can switch the control scheme to KB and mouse. Or there might be no need to switch since they are all active at the same time.

Thanks.
