Hard game crash persists on Ubuntu 24.04
Constant crashes on both Windows 11 and Linux desktop. Same Machine, 2 different OS. No hardware changes.
This was a fresh clean install from windows to Linux, a project I was planning anyway due to privacy concerns with windows Copilot. Figured I would also see if it changed anything with performance. It did not. I understand POE2 does not have official support on Ubuntu but the crashes remain just as frequent. Only plus side is the PC does not hard reboot anymore. After each crash I do a manual verify of the installed files through Steam and there is always 1 file that needs to be re-acquired. No idea what that file is but I can go about 30 minutes before another crash if I am lucky. Other games in Ubuntu tested: WOW / D4 (installed through battle.net / Lutris) POE1 (steam, and standalone through Lutris) Many others in steam library using Proton No crashes. Old: Windows 11 24h2 (rollback changed nothing) New: Ubuntu 24.04 Steam Proton 9 (official from steam) (GE Proton 9-21 through 9-25 all tested) Hardware: 3080ti i7-11700k 32gb Ram 1TB SSD for OS +4TB storage Última edição por Braric#4417 em 16 de fev de 2025 11:56:08 Último bump em 16 de fev de 2025 14:55:01

Standalone POE2 client installed through Lutirs seems the most stable from what limited things I have tried.
Limit cores used in Lutris advanced settings. I have 16 cores so I set the limit to 14. 5 hours now no hard crash. HUGE coming from several an hour. |

AND hard crash forcing me to power cycle. Not the temp fix I had hoped for. Not putting my hardware at risk for an early access title. Done testing on my own.
This is NOT a windows issue. This is NOT an NVIDIA issue. This is a game code issue. Period. All this testing and hoop jumping just to play a game I payed for. I'm done for now. I DO NOT and WILL NOT recommend POE2 to any friends or family. Still no actual update or response from the devs... Última edição por Braric#4417 em 16 de fev de 2025 14:55:31
