NO SOUND AFTER BUYING MAP STASH TAB

I bought the new map stash tab and while loading it with maps all sound stopped, no noises from my crossbow, none from the open portals, none from whispers. I closed the game and tested my sound. all my speakers work and my headset works on other sites and programs. I turned the game on, sound at intro and character selection but no sound when I loaded my character. I restarted my computer, turned the game on and sound at intro and character selection, and for a minute or 2 with my character in my hideout but again the sound ceased. going to try restarting steam next and see if that's the issue

after restarting steam sound has returned. will post updates
