Failed to load loot filter

Loot filter is saying


"Failed to load item filter. Reason: failed to open filter file: "Chinese symbol"/my games/path of exile 2/ online filters/nN3jOauR"

- this error code always briefly changes the Chinese symbol and the /nn3j0auR thing at the end.

Literally tried everything I know of.
I have a high end PC set up so shouldn't be my gaming rig.

- tried downloading 7zip and extracting from GitHub/ filterblade
- tried following & copying from this poe2 website onto my character.
- tried reinstalling game
- tried deleting everything poe2 related steam related on my PC I could find.
- tried extracting file directly to the folder poe2 opens in game for the filters.

Any help please let me know. .

I would truly appreciate it poe2 would install a loot filter in the actual game for everyone instead of using this website etc.

I have the exact same problem. Talked to everyone in game, visited tons of websites and videos, Reddit, you name it. Nothing has worked. It's just freaking broken. Following filters online generates that error. Putting the filter files directly in the folder just does nothing, although they are the folder that opens when you click the folder icon.

I've reinstalled, even moved to a different drive. I've done everything exactly as described, multiple times, nothing. I'm like 4 hours into this and have lost my dang mind.

Got it working. I also had weird chinese characters in some of the folder names.

I used to have one drive years ago and apparently uninstalled it without desyncing first. There are file paths in the registry still pointing to those bad locations. If you run regedit and go to 2 places:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

and

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders

And then look for the paths in the right column, and if there is anything that is not either in your local user directory or in %userprofile% but has anything to do with one drive or old drive locations, fix it... not really anything, its just the "Personal" key though in both that's causing trouble I think, although I had another one that I fixed as well that was bad in there. After fixing these, it worked.
