Unable to select on screen with left mouse button

Opened Corruption Altar in Jiquanis Sanctum (Act 3)

Used an Exalted Orb on my equipped staff. (It did nothing - at least that i saw)

Selected my unequipped staff and dragged onto Circle for the Altar.
Staff Disappeared

After I could no longer use the left mouse button to pick up items or enter a portal or checkpoint. I was able to assign a skill and use it.

I reset to the last checkpoint, and my staff reappeared as the cursor. I was able to place it into my inventory.

I still could not use the left mouse button to pick up items or enter a portal etc....

I exited to character selection screen and resigned in.

I still could not use the left mouse button to pick up items or enter a portal etc....

Exited Game, got a new rig, loaded character, still no improvement.

Once I reset to defaults in the Options it restored itself.
