Died while killing Boss on corrupted Nexus Map

Had a Corrupted Nexus map with the boss modifier. I died as I killed the boss (dot damage killed boss). I still had a resurection to give, so I spawned back in the map. This lead to the following unpredictable impacts.

Loot dropped, but was wiped when the map reset when I resurected.
Did not summon the Corrupted Nexus Boss but did complete the map
Did cleanse the surrounding atlas maps but did not give me credit for it for Cataclysm's wake.

Something similar happened to me. I died on a map boss, which wiped the entire map. After that, I started from a checkpoint and killed the boss. The corrupted boss did not appear and I did not get any atlas points, but the corrupt was cleared from the map.

Same happened to me? What now? Are the points lost now forever???
