"The Viridian Wildwood" - again...

Still trash, still hasn't been fixed.

- Sometimes when you enter, you won't get the light - instant map fail
- You die once? - map fail, light won't come back
- Map completed before killing all rares or exploring? light fades - fail

fail fail fail...

its intended, not bug - this map is based on PoE1 league mechanic where you travel in darkness and depends on you how much you will explore (finding light and proper exploring patern). I have to say its too easy to nearly fully expore it compared to PoE1 - there you explore on good run maybe 50% of area and was happy to get 2-3/4 events.

Its unique - it has to be different than normal maps

that's understandable and if that's the intended way to have it like it's in PoE1- I don't mind at all (I haven't played it, only watched videos before I attempted it), that would not explain entering it for the first time to bug out (e.g you won't get a light) or to get it completed halfway through (while in the wiki they state "This encounter does not have a timer.")

also, if "dying or leaving the Wildwood to the main map area will despawn any portals inside the Wildwood, preventing re-entry" is intentional, then it should kick you out of the map, not leaving you inside clueless..

still either design fail or it wasn't tested at all when they backported it
"This encounter does not have a timer." - its correct, there is no timer. You have some hidden light bar which is depleted as you explore darkness. You are filling it (not to full) by picking light orbs. So if you just stay you can be there for infinite time.
This area was one try also in PoE1 - main thing you wanted from it was King of the mist encounter (its from ritual in PoE2).
So main purpose from it in PoE2 is get as many omens as possible (and hope in luck to get good ones). Dont be salty when you dont explore it fully, or dont kill all rares - focus on omens.
You are not loosing anything, loot doesnt exist until it drops! Just open another map and enjoy. Take Unique maps as something different to experience.

There is some luck involved in finding light, I agree, but dont we all like rng things in ARPGs? :)

In PoE1 it was realy hard to optimize exploring, map was like 4x bigger and best you could do was to understand where in that area you spawned at start. Based on that you explored(slowly, not rushing and wasting light mindlessly) with focus on finding 4 events - there was some diamond patern. But when you failed start you could end up with 0 events found. PoE2 version is realy joke compared to it ;)

Regarding Wildwood im missing some proper events like in PoE1, there are some areas which looks like events, but they are not proper events.

I never died inside it in PoE2(or ported out) so I cannot comment that. Only when you loose all light portal to exit will appear, thats all I experienced.
