Last weapon, reason unknown.

I was playing last night and finished a map and did a simulacrum, I noticed for some reason suddenly my dps was low and looked, and my weapon somehow got swapped with another, I hit a bad desync/lag spike in a map and unknowingly might of equipped some in my inventory. Is there anyway possible to get back something I invested hundreds of hours playing for. And possibly a system that can lock your equipment in it's slow if your not crafting or working on it to prevent this in the future.
