Boxes + Controller on PC - cannot loot unless i leave area

When opening boxes (research/ornate) on my PC with controller, about 50% of the time I cannot pick up items ANYWHERE near the box (including the loot from box).

I open a portal but cannot click on it.

To fix it I have to leave the area completely and return to loot.

Been happening for past 2-3 patches.
