1 handed mace skins dont work on sceptres

All the MTX for 1h maces work on sceptres in poe1. In poe2 the Tukohama's Crusher mace skin and the Exiles Staff mace skin say "type mismatch" when trying to apply it to sceptres. All of the mace skins I purchased, I did so specifically for sceptres. Are they just not going to work on them in poe2?
