Very High CPU Usage

Hello,

since dawn of the hunt update my cpu hits 70%-100% cpu usage.. normally i had 20-50% cpu usage and mostly stable 120 fps on 4k (+ - 20 fps on high demand areas) but now its 70%-100% with fps droping and droping to 30fps even 1fps until it micro freezes. Idk what happend but its not playable anymore and its only this game that keeps trolling me.

temps are fine no overheat
drivers are up to date
no other game has this problem

Has anyone a solution?

GPU RTX 4070
CPU Ryzen 5800X3D (its a new cpu and i had a second one to test no faulty hardware)
RAM 32 gb DDR4 3200mhz
NVME 1 TB Samsung 980 PRO
OS Win 11 Pro

Edit*

bios is up to date
chipset is up to date
cpu is fine ( checked with a second 5800x3d)
new motherboard is also fine
ram is fine
drivers are up to date
engergy options are fine
project lasso didnt help
re installing or verify game didnt help
changing to vulkan or dx11 didnt help
gsync is disabled
changed audio lanes to low and reverb is disabled
ingame chats are toggled off
tried playing with one monitor didnt help
nvidia low latency is disabled
windows 11 visual effets are disabled
windows 11 version 24H2

i think there is a error with hyperthreading / multicore in this game. i set via task manager the game to use only 4 cores and i get better fps and its stable.. without the limitation the game just uses 100% when loading maps/areas or fighting to much

i dont get it

Try the first option.
If it does NOT work do the next 3 options in the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th spoilers.

Windows Graphics

Make sure Windows graphics is set to use the right GPU for the game .exe file

Check here
Settings > System > Display > Graphics

Add the game .exe file

Once added hit Options
Select High performance

Dynamic Refresh

Ensure Windows 11 Dynamic Refresh Rate is NOT enabled.

System -> Display -> Advanced display -> Choose a refresh rate -> turn OFF dynamic refresh rate

Correct GPU Port

Ensure your Display is connected to your GPU and not the CPU graphics port on your motherboard.

client.txt

An upload of your most recent client.txt file would be ideal as a primary step in troubleshooting this problem.

This file contains some information about your game/PC configuration which may help put us in the right direction why you're having issues.

You can locate this file inside a folder named "Logs" which is located inside your main pathofexile.exe installation folder.

You can host this information inside this client.txt file (recent one) to another site like pastebin.com. You do not need to create an account to use this site.

If the most recent client.txt file is too large you can split the main upload into 2 separate files to pastebin.com and link each page URL back here if necessary.

I have the same problem. When it was version 0.1, my computer ran perfectly fine. My configuration was a 10750H and 2070S laptop. However, after version 0.2, the CPU issue became particularly significant. I even experienced a situation where the battery was still dropping even when it was plugged in. This problem never occurred in version 0.1
Windows 11 (if thats what you are running) is part of the problem on how it schedules the cpu. Other than that theres something missing in your details. I run the 5700x3d and I sit around 15% usage and drops naturally as I increase resolution. Now you said you have 3200mhz ram, it that what the sticks say or is that what youve clocked them at because ryzen scales with ram speed and timings.

If they arnt clocked to 3200 then you need to bring them up to there or preferably higher. That will help you out.

i tried it with 3000mhz 3200mhz 3400mhz and 3600mhz on my ram nothing changed. i even switched to my old 1080p monitor and my cpu usage is still hiting 100% on a fresh win 11 install

After you did the fresh OS install did you update your chipset and is your bios up to date. Check your cpu power profile.

yes and yes all up to date and idk why but its just poe2 that has this problem
Yeah there has to be an issue somewhere, im not saying that POE 2isnt the problem, its part of it but its not THE problem or else it would be a widespread issue.
