Fast crits, Called Shots and Snipers Mark interaction question
Let's say I socket Sniper's Mark into Called Shots. And let's say I have a really high crit chance where I can land a crit more than once every 0.5 seconds.
Sniper's Mark is consumed when the marked target is critically hit. Called Shots will auto-cast its socketed Mark every 5 seconds normally, but will instantly recast its socketed Mark if the mark is consumed. However, Called Shots can only inta reapply consumed Marks every 0.5 seconds. Now my question is, say Called Shots marks a target and I hit the target critically. This consumes the mark. Since the Mark was consumed, Called Shots instantly marks an enemy within range. And now let's say I hit this new marked enemy critically, thus consuming Sniper's Mark again, within less than 0.5 seconds from when Called Shots marked this new enemy. Since Called Shots can only insta reapply its socketed mark on consumption once every 0.5 seconds what happens now? Does Called Shots 'remember' that I consumed its socketed mark and then instantly reapply it once Called Shots' internal 0.5 cooldown for consumption is over, or does Called Shots wait the full 5 seconds to mark an enemy again? I also have a question regarding how Marked for Sickness, Marked for Death (Notables), and the Marked for Death Support Gem interact with Called Shots.
What I’m testing: I currently run Marked for Death Support on my Sniper’s Mark (used with Called Shots). In practice, I notice that armour keeps breaking on the target as it takes damage, even after Sniper’s Mark is consumed. My uncertainty: Is this because Sniper’s Mark is being re-applied automatically (every ~0.5s)? Or does the armour break effect from the support gem persist for a short duration after the mark is consumed? Either way, the end result is that I keep building armour break stacks on the target even when marks are consumed. My actual question: Do the Notables (Marked for Death and Marked for Sickness) behave the same way? Does their effect persist briefly after the mark is consumed? Specifically, does the target still take increased damage, and can it still be culled by hits, once the mark has been consumed? TLDR: If these effects dropped immediately on mark consumption, it would massively devalue the Notables/Support because Called Shots consume marks almost instantly. The whole design seems to be that the mark provides an initial trigger but the effects persist long enough to synergize with multiple hits. |

I tried sniper mark with called shot on T3 Xesht with 15% crit crossbow using shock burst round, seems like called shot can't reapply immediately the mark because sniper mark has 6s cooldown time.

No , once you consumed a mark it has fixed 4sec cd for another one. It is not like FOCAL POINT in POE1. Mark does not matter , however ingeunity support works but i found it kinda waste because it applies double time get one benefit also puts 4sec cd to 6 sec.
