Stuck after killing The First Herald Boss

Im currently doing "The Search" quest. I confronted Kanu and killed The First Herald boss. The moment I killed him, I died. The quest continues while I'm died. I respawn and realize that I can't proceed with the quest. The gate to the next area is still closed. Also no loot dropped from the First Herald boss.

I tried to reloading from checkpoint. I come back to a point where the First Herald is alive but looks bloody. He says a line and for some reason teleports somewhere? I'm not sure how to explain it but it's weird.

I hope to continue playing without starting all over again. Any help would be appreciated

This also happened to me. I died as the Boss died. Then respawned. After that the sequence triggers where Kanu Kills the first Herald. But instead of seeing this scene, the first herald teleports (glitches fast) to out of map (to left bottom) where you cannot reach him and thus cannot confront the kanu.

Same. Died to the electric attack he plants after he died and his death sequence just keeps repeating when I respawn at checkpoint.

Guess we just have to go through the zone again.
Hope it gets fixed since he has a delayed attack.

Same issue here. Died as he died and now he just keeps repeating how he'll bury us all then disappears. Also tried to respawn at checkpoint.

Update:

Was able to move on by resetting the instance and killing him again.

11/24/25 Bug still in game...
