PoE2 Campaign Length – Feedback and Suggestions
Hi GGG,
I’d like to share some feedback regarding the Path of Exile 2 campaign. In its current state, it feels too long, and I believe that in the long run this may not be healthy for the game. I understand that opinions are quite divided, especially with many new players entering the ARPG genre through PoE2. Personally, I really like the structural direction compared to PoE1: the bosses are memorable, and leveling has become more interesting and challenging. However, I see a potential issue with the campaign’s future. Over time, the core ARPG community will be the one that remains, and this community already has very clear standards — many of which were defined by PoE1 itself. I don’t think everyone will maintain the same enthusiasm for repeating such a long campaign, especially when creating a second character, or when it’s the tenth time going through the acts again. I believe the solution already exists within the game, through the Interlude philosophy: A clear and direct main storyline; Optional side areas focused on strengthening the character (like the area where you can drop the coin and exchange it for an amulet, ring, or jewel). If this approach were applied across all acts, many of the current issues could be resolved. Veteran players could rush the campaign more efficiently, while players who enjoy exploration would still have the freedom to experience every map at their own pace. My suggestion is: Move all essential rewards (passives, resistances, etc.) into the main storyline; Keep side quests focused on item rewards or extra loot opportunities. This way, the campaign would feel more balanced, offering a good experience for both veteran and new players alike. Thank you for your attention and for all the work you are putting into PoE2.
