Stash Tab converted to remove only

Is it normal for a premium stash tab in which you have already stored items to be converted to a remove only tab and that during the season?

If you converted the tab to a merchant tab, it no longer exists in your stash and is now part of Ange's stash for selling stuff.
That would cause it to become remove only in your stash so you don't lose the contents of the tabs you convert.
