path of exile 2 in linux

hi ggg i was wandring can poe 2 run in linux? if posible then witch distro should i use i mean the problem is my pc is 7 years old but some game really good optimize in linux and low latancy for older system

PoE2 runs flawlessly on Linux.

I think u can use any distro if u're using Steam. I'm playing on Nobara(Fedora). Not sure what nets u the best performance, maybe an Arch distro like CachyOS.

/edit: I'm using the standalone client tho.

You might get through the campaign okay...

I don't think you'll get hundreds or thousands of hours out of Path of Exile 2 if you're on Linux and using a system that's the better part of a decade old. The optimisation isn't there.

Yeah I have to agree. Didn't really pick up that part of the question, but Linux doesn't magically fix the bad optimization of PoE2 atm.
Depending on what ur 7 year old PC actually has, PoE2 might not run very well. It's probably the same performance u get on windows.

The standalone client works fine in wine through lutris on debian 12.

As for optimization, running on linux can't fix anything innately unoptimized with PoE2 itself, which is still a lot. I had a ton of latency (internet lag too but I think it wasn't only that) on the free weekend trial.

i would be genuinely curious to see comparison between most optimized linux vs stripped win11... hmm this kinda sounds like a car forum now
