Multiple Tracking Scrolls / Currency Rings?

So at the beginning 0.3 tracking scrolls were on sale, and I disliked that I had to change my tracking rings over on every character, so I bought 2x of each tracking scroll thinking I could have one for each of the two main characters I would play.

When I made my 2nd character I tried to equip the 2nd set of scrolls but it just asked me to equip the one from my other character - so there's benefit to buying more than 1 set? I expect now that they track on a league-per-league basis, so when this league resets, I can keep the scrolls on the characters and equip the next set on the new league characters?

And with that, I only have 1 set of tracking rings, so there would be no reason unless I want tracking across seasons to buy more than 1 set?
