What was killing me here?

I died yesterday in this tiny boss room from a debuff I've never seen before:

How it looks to me there was no chance I could have survived there. //Edit: also in such cases as you can see I dont *see* either my life/ES bar in the middle of the screen nor on the sides from all the noise on the screen - In such situations (or certain debuffs) I'd like to have a screen wide visual effect (like you get on low life) to realize that something severe is going on. Oh I just now realized that I was rolling into these yellow exploding things which probably killed me then finally - but still the debuff was eating up my ES which I didnt realize until it was over.

Then this was really just a skill issue - the same boss in a different room and I forget what to do with him^^
