Stormweaver not competetive

I think this ascendancy needs some minor tweaks, because it barely does T5 with heavy investment. Here are my recommended tweaks. * Multiplyiing Squals: limit +1 -> limit +2 * Refracted infusion: add +1 limit to elemental infusions * Merge shapers of Storms and Shapers of Winter into one, adding both bonuses * Remnants range: +20% range -> +40% range * Storm's recollection: Remnants will spawn under your feet after 3 seconds * Force of Will: add +36% mana regeneration rate * Strike Twice/Heavy Snows: Make it also, that you apply shock/chill twice and that aditional chill triggers freeze twice as easily. Also Zarokh's Refrain lineage gem should have +1 limit to skills to allow echo to be used on any skill. Right now it's use is limited, because only stormweaver have +1 limit to skills. Increasing limit by +1 allow it to be used with non stormweaver classes overabundance propably and not loose 1/3 of casts. Also with stormweaver this allows this ascendancy to have 2x buffed firestorm allowing twice as much DPS to be able to do T16 with good equipment and also makes class more smooth and enjoyable. Right now it is one of slowest class in game, because on relying on limited number of casts. And why all these changes? Because stormweaver doesn't have any significant advantage when you want to run elemental spell builds and is very slow and weak. All ascendancies can "zoom" in some way, but with Stormweaver you just cast, wait, move, cast, wait, move and sometimes you cast dummy skills on spot to regain remnants. By all these changes, we can more focus on tri-element builds, can cast up to 2 skills at same time, store remnants for up to 2 skills, remove backtracking because remnants not spawning where you was few seconds ago and makes our damage atleast slightly more competetive. Still, it will be weak class compared to current meta, but this will atleast move it to A/B tier. Also, please limit monster affix for mana drain to maximum 5% mana per second. Class is very mana heavy and use mana shield, so it is basically GG if you met some monster with this affix. It instantly drains all your mana and and if it also have haste or shroudwalker, you are basically 99.9% dead and can't continue map. Último bump em 6 de out. de 2025 10:57:42

I'll be honest this season im having a blast, been playing only stormweaver since 0.1.
this season is by far the best (playing arc this season) was playing frostbolt/cold snap last season.(it was ok) im doing 2-3M dmg/sec with good gear clearing screen after screen. all boss are 1 shot(lighting conduit) the infusion add so much dmg to arc. also the build have no weakness you can play T16 with any mods on map,(I dont even look at them) but there's 1 thing we can agree on, the 'multi elemental' builds do not work, I tried hard to make it work with firestorm frost bomb etc...its just far in term on speed and dps vs a pure 1 elemental build, either you go cold or lightning. cant wait to have fire ascendency! |

yea the "play every spell type" playstyle idea really is ... at least from what I can tell.
A bad idea. You can probably do 2 ele just fineish... but all 3 spell types would be odd to play around. I play ignite so doing really anything else is a waste of time. I get the shock ascendancy because duh... Ill take 2x 30% shocks but other than that. Single spell damage is really what you should be doing. Mash the clean

Ah, I am trying firestorm, but... it feels kinda limited by remnants management even with all picks and hard limited by number of casts. For standard mage builds I think other ascendancies are much better. If I try to zoom, remnants spawn far away from me, so I can't use firestorm and when I cast it at single place, I am extremely immobile and damage is average. I went with freeze instead of double remnants and snap on CoA. It gives more remnants and aoe. With mixing some fireballs, I can do now T7, but now I kinda don't have enough fire remnants to sustain firestorm. Resistances are all capped, 5k mana, +7 all spells but, ton of spell damage and elemental damage but still my spell is 3K dps. On my deadeye I have 50K and extreme attack speed, minion build have 300k dps cocaine ants x 8 and archer minion 10K x 100 summons. I kinda like blinking mages, but stormweaver have like 0 zooming potential and very low damage.

Like I said its not stormweaver the problem, more the firestorm build your trying ;)

Best solution Will be completely remove that stupid limit for spells like firestorm, orbs etc. But I think it is there because of performance. Triple firestorm makes my GPU usage twice as high and gives me fps drops comparable to abyss. We have breakable limits for curses etc, so only elemental spells are left and those with limit are because of passive linked to stormweaver to be "usable". My idea is compromise, to keep it unique for stormweaver and could be fixed Very quickly. But, still in Long time there should be some total rework. If I dont count +limit, basically chronomancer can do same but much better. Stronger curses, faster cast, bigger area, faster CD. If You sacrifice cast speed, acolyte also works nice have infinite single remnants passive and can leech with skills and have like 200-300% more damage per cast. Chrono can stack massive recoup. Stormweaver is in middle and only advantage is for tri-build, that cant be used because of that limit. And that elemental ailment passives can be acquired through items, added damage and lineage gems, so only way how to make it viable is to merge chill/shock nodes into one. Chronomancer can do same effect using to auras and it costs only 2 ascendancy points. It Will still be weaker because of cost 4 after merging. 8 is too much and it Will synergize a lot with firestorm, because it hits many times low damage and doing 1/3 of each elements have problem causing ailments. There is stupid limit for how many % ailment damage u must do with it to even have no 0 change. Option to have 100% to all 3 per hit, or remnants, or elemental Storm path or speed using massive stack of arcane surge, We Will finally have some variety, some Option. Maybe that +limit can be changed to allow elemental Storm to be meta gem or add hazard tag to it. Just this change opens massive spell area scaling for that 1 skill. Yea, stormweaver Will be FPS killer, but atleast some people with beefy pc Will have Option to have some fun. And I dont think it Will dethrone meta with any of these changes.

I'm doing an arc stormweaver right now and it's a lot of fun and I'm getting through content with it, not as fast as a good LA deadeye or anything, but I enjoy the build.
I do agree the ascendency tree is pretty lame in general though. |
