Is GGG trying to deceive us?

Is GGG trying to deceive us?

I've been playing this game for over 40,000 hours today and I can say I've really enjoyed it since I started. The designers and developers are to be congratulated; they created an engine and platform that's a pleasure to play, with much of it based on POE, of course.

However, I've noticed difficulties in delivering improvements on time, patches being rushed and haphazardly produced, with major balance issues and numerous bugs. The evolution from early access to a game on the verge of release should be smoother. Furthermore, the announced improvements seem to hide other changes in the dark( witch are not necessarily good), something that cannot happen.

I've also noticed a disregard from the executive team for the community's demands. Ultimately, the game belongs to the community, not the developers. Therefore, the community needs to have fun playing, and when that doesn't happen, we simply abandon them, because we play for fun above all else!

Patch 3.1, in my opinion, vehemently demonstrates a lack of commitment to player quality of life and entertainment.

Honestly.

I think they are trying to do the opposite.
But it seem that whatever they try to do people are never happy.

I've seen here on this forum people complaining for long that the game was too easy and boss were a joke.
The same people are now complaining that they "are forced" (lol) to do 6 mods maps with no revive and bosses are too hard.

They rushed this patch because many were crying over having to do towers and that it havent been reworked for 0.3.0.
They prob didnt had more time to do better for now and said it was a small first step to test things. But so it would apease people.

Now people cry because they want towers back.

I dont know lol

I defenitly wouldnt want to be in the devs shoes tbh...

Don't agree with everything in your post, but I do agree that these updates are coming at a glacial pace.

It's bad enough that they had to put resources back into PoE1 to appease whales, now they're also wasting time making league content in a severely unfinished game to appease other whales.

If they had just let the children sob and focused on the fundamentals of PoE2 then the game would be in a much better state right now.
I think GGG listen comunnity, but instead of getting inspiration from them, they Just do exactly what people want. And because this, not all people agree with it and It looks like they are not polishing it. 3.1. is example of epic fail. Idea is good, I love that You dont need towers for tablets. But, they failed in balancing how to drop them. And making towers completely useless is also bad. I would kinda love some hybrid approach. Like creating utillity tablets that Will be for towers and content tablets that Will be for maps. For towers, we can have things Like irradiated, use any map in area, repeat map, more breach es in breach map, repeat unique map etc. And more unique and expensive tablets. Their area could be shared for all towers and have charges Like map content one. Also all 3 tablets could be unlocked no matter modifiers and maybe bosses have increased chance for dropping tablets for current content on map? Modifiers are not needed, because Who Will want to use content juiced map without map modifiers? Allowing us to do it is Just for sake of freedom doing it wrong.

im actl too old to care about this ^^
The game and community will suffer the longer they split development on the two games.

The longer this goes on, the more people will realise. They need to let grandma poe1 die. Rip the bandaid off for the crybabies and lets get moving on actual development.

This is what happens when you try to appease the segment of players who's issues are rooted in FOMO, sensitivity to loss aversion or "efficiency guilt".

You can not ever satisfy things for them, because the problem is not with the game, it is with their mindset. They will always have this issue - in one way or another - no matter what, as long as there isn't a deterministically clear-cut method to achieve 100% optimal lever-pulling juice-effectiveness and simulate a brain-off casino while doing it.

Most of them do not play poe2 to build strong characters and feel satisfaction from leveling up and defeating content, they play loot casino simulator and satisfaction is measured in div/hr. Any response to their "criticisms" that makes it a) harder to pull a lever or b) pulling a lever not as juicy or c) harder to make pulling a lever juicy, is a step in the wrong direction for them.

That's why getting rid of towers and making the content harder didn't make these complainers happy, because it was never really about towers or the content for them. It was about the perceived "loss" from not juicing up to maximum lever pull efficacy (tower overlaps) while still keeping the lever pulls themselves easy enough for the game to functionally be a click-based brain-off casino simulator.

Now that towers are gone and you just have to squeeze juice directly into the waystone interface, they are mad because when they die, their ticket to the juiced-up casino is also revoked.

Since most of them copy builds and do not 100% understand the way their offense or defense works in the first place, there's no "this is what must be done to deal with this" function that occurs in their mind. It is a "I traded 200 divines for this gear for this build and I deserve to sit at the juice-bar in the click-casino". The rationalization is incapable of going beyond that because the necessary prerequisite knowledge and understanding of the game mechanics required to do so does not exist. So instead of engaging any problem-solving mechanisms, they just feel bad.

SOME people will try to solve the problem. This is not most people. Unfortunately, the complainers also depend on the problem solvers, because they don't have either the skill, patience, or desire (or all of the above) to solve anything themselves. They are just complainers.

All they really understand is "brain feel the bad feel right now", and sometimes this is due to legitimate balance and game issues. Sometimes it's completely understandable that their online displays of irritation show similarities to the irritability and emotional dysregulation associated with withdrawal symptoms. Hard to pick out the noise from the meaningful feedback. I too, would not want to be the devs lol.
