syzygy doesn't work with leap slam

It is recommended by GGG as a support gem but even if the conditions of being ignited and broken armour are met, the leapslam strips the broken armour and stuns without apply syzygy.

can someone please clarify in the gem interactions if this is a bug or by intent.
