Exp gain/loss are absurdly out of tune with each other.

I am 98 going 99. And the exp gain, even constantly running t16 waystones with packsize and exp tablets is crazy slow. I mean, absurdly slow. Idk like 10 maps for 5% exp gain slow. Okay, sure, it is what it is, I can live with that.
But the exp loss in comparison is just ridiculous. Even with Omen of Amelioration the progress of five t16 maps optimized for exp gain is completely wiped. You are effectively forced into hardcore. Why is this necessary? Exp gain is at a snail's pace in comparison to PoE1. The slow gain alone makes it so you need hundreds of optimized maps for the last 3-4 levels. Do we really need to additionally strip away exp still? The punishment stands in no relation to the gain. And I know some will argue that it's so that you can't glasscannon your way to high levels, but the reality is that the exp gain on lower levels outweights the loss massively. You can easily breeze through 65 to 90 without even feeling the exp loss. And at lvl98 my character has "solved" the game. I don't die anymore except maybe that one freak accident every 30-40 maps, like a frame drop or getting stuck on a rock or some shit. Still feels like shit though to see your exp go away. What do you guys think? Does the significantly slower exp gain on high levels in PoE2 still warrant exp penalty? Does the ineffectiveness of exp loss on lower levels still warrant it's use as "anti-glasscannon" measure? Do you feel like it's a challenge or an annoyance? Último bump em 1 de nov. de 2025 17:47:26

I think level 100 isn't/shouldn't be a pinnacle goal for most players. But more of a cool achievement/bragging rights for players that want to do more than the average. Is the current balance correct? I dunno, but I dont think it should be something easy to do.
Theres no content locked behind being max level(other than a passive point, which by then is less than 1% of total points) so ive never felt like I'm missing out on anything by staying at lvl 95-99. It's kinda been interesting seeing my friends that don't play poe1 experience this. The ones that normally play WoW almost seem offended that reaching max level wasn't a top priority/something to get out of the way before the endgame grind. While the runescape players took it in stride. If leveling to 100 were to be made easier, I'd like it to be done by adding new content/mechanics that can be tuned to farm xp. Eg, the shrine scarab method poe1 had(was prob too OP then) or like ToTA which gave slow xp but was 100% safe. "Beidat honored the pact, though Mancy wouldn't take off Doryani’s prototype."

" Perhaps some people have the sense that they should push their character to the limit of possible power before trying something news like another build or another character. |
|
" So the game should cater to someone's misguided idea of how the game works???? Like getting to 100 just doesn't matter, any build should be functionally done by 90 or so anything after that is just gravy. There's just no reason to do it besides to say you did, if someone sets that goal for themself that's a them issue. Getting to 100 isn't meant to be easy, it's meant to be a grind. |

Reach 100 is the last goal to archive when season ends.As usual i like to "finish" my season character reaching his maximum development. At moment im 52% into lv99 but thinking to quit. Progress is tediously boring, slow and expensive, maybe 1% every 5 to 6 exp/packsize maps with full exp tablets. Progress from 99 to 100 is 100+ hours playing without dying, too too slow for 99.99% of the players. I feel like i'm wasting my time that i could dedicate to something else.
