Ambrosia consume no Mana charges

Ambrosia is often recommended as a support gem for Spellslinger. However, no matter which spell I linked it with, I didn't see any mana flask charges being consumed when using Spellslinger. I haven't run any detailed damage tests yet, but I assume that means the lightning damage bonus isn't applying either.

On a side note, Ambrosia works perfectly with my other spells.

I've noticed quite a few Stormweavers using Spellslinger together with Ambrosia, so I must be missing something here.
