Looking for build help (duo'ing with an invoker)
|
Pretty much the title. I'm trying to plan ahead (have a few choices in mind just in case builds get nuked or what not) for 0.4. If something looks intriguing with a druid ascendancy I'll pair that with my buddy who is going Invoker. Otherwise, I'm trying to see if there are any particular builds that would pair well with a monk. I do prefer ranged over melee in general, and nothing involving minions. I despise minion builds.
I do have a few ideas so far, but I'm not sure how they pair with monk and/or scale as you get into maps, T15s, etc. - ED/Contagion Lich - Poison Pathfinder - Frost Stormweaver (is there any way to improve visual clarity, frostbolts fill the screen once you get really going it seems like) - Tactician (never played one, but I've been told they have some support skills that can benefit a party) If anyone else has any ideas, I'm all ears. He will end up going flicker in higher tier maps, so I know I'll need some good boots to even remotely keep up. You cannot keep up with flicker. Even with flicker.
The guy who clicks first will be 3 screens away, the other one has to walk. End of the discussion. |

it's great that you have permanent buddy to play with. this is most desirable situation and very clearly, it can be seen that poe2 is made for multi-player and you gain immense profits by playing in a party.
if you want to win the game and win over everybody else, be the best, make lots of currencies and be rich and be the lord of humankind, you can consider learning and mastering rarity bot 500 600 700++ duo with dps kill everything build. you and your buddy will become the heroes and champions of the server. 34pre98qua

" Oh you're right. But I know he won't have flicker until later on. And if that's the case we can always split and take each side of a map. Just wanting something that scales well so won't have trouble in T15s and such, and is not snail pace slow. I know it's impossible to completely keep up with the flicker. Would like the ED/Contagion Lich be able to clear fast enough that even the lack of speed would help? I don't know how that build scales whether it falls off in higher maps or not |

Wait two weeks and when the patch comes, we can talk.
It is pointless before. |

" Let's assume for just a second that it's the same as 0.3 just in case not many balance changes come with them redoing the endgame, adding druid, etc. It's easier for me to have a few options and then I can always cross builds off. If it was this league, what would your recommendations be? |

Deadeye with tail wind and tri-socket 65% MS boots.
Comparable clear speed if split farming, and great catching up potential if trying to stay coupled. Bow or spear in hand to allow eventual mount. But again, correctly build infinite flicker on high mob density will be constantly off-screen to you, and you will be mostly running. --------- Offtopic but not really: Some monks do not like when you are touching their monsters. Like you hit them for 1 HP and this majorly pisses them off. The reason for this is because they build to have 100% crit chance against full HP monsters. Making it impossible to miss a crit. Now, that being said, if you are going to play together, maybe when you get your ranger to 90 (so you can always switch back to it), you can try to switch to a rarity/curse bot. Warp will compensate the lack of tailwind and make catching up easier. You will be getting much better drops from bosses and map mechanics. And if you can put something like party block shield, he will be almost immortal. (if this is a thing in 0.4.0) It should feel great, and it may convince your partner to at least consider your position on the map, before clicking the flicker. |

At this point, I'll quit the game entirely before I play another deadeye. So has to be something other than that
