Corrupted Nexus Dosen't Clear

I've done a couple corrupted nexuses using waystones as high as 9 but nothing happens when completing the map. It's not cleansing the region, I'm not getting more atlas points and my cataclysm's wake quest still says I need to complete a tier 3+ nexus. Am I doing something wrong or am I just stuck forever because it's bugged?
