Map bosses drop nothing occasionally

I've had this happen twice. Once in lower tier and once in t15 just now. It's a regular map with the boss map icon on it. Zero shrine buff and only my HH buffs. The boss dropped literally nothing. I hold alt and see not even a spec of gold nor other loot.
