Is map failing intended if you spend to much time in the temple and the map despawns?

See title that sums it pretty much up.

Was doing an linage run (last map) while getting entrace too the temple.
After completion the entrance back was despawned.

Upon exit to hideout from the temple i saw map failed.

I never failed! :(
