Can't assign skill using controller

Whenever I try to asign my skills on ps5 the skill option jumps to X before it is even possible to reach the desired skill, let alone confirm selection. It does that only in skill selection, no other game, nothing detected with controller calibration. I play chronomancer.. it was good till I wanted to change skills.
