Lossing items while dropping them

I have dropped to items to clean up my inventory in the last two hours one in a map one in the Val temple. normally that just drop and you can pick them back up. Both times the just disappear.

Is your loot filter hiding them? Hold Alt.

loot filter isn't the issue. They popped up when i first picked them up and then when dropping them poof. and yes i did use alt to make sure.
