POE2 Zolin and Zelina boss fight does not reset upon failing

Fighting the boss fight at the end of the Recruit the Vaal quest in the Cuachic Vault. Playing Druid on SC Fate of the Vaal.

Twice I've died during the fight, but respawning at the checkpoint doesn't re-trigger the boss fight when I enter the room - my character doesn't say the voice line and they continue their animation.

The only way I've been able to retry the fight is completely resetting the instance.
