Soul siphoner mod on abyss monster prevents crossbow attacks

Occasionally, i run into an issue where if i stand in the soul siphoner area of an abyss monster, my attacks will slow down until eventually it stops, and then i can no longer shoot my crossbow without relogging. It’s so difficult to avoid because the soul siphoner area is so large.
