Abysses cannot be closed on Sun Temple maps

At least one or more abysses cannot be closed if it spawns near the sun (the centre of the map).

You can kill the first wave of monsters which spawn at the start of the map and some of the green dots disappear, but additional monsters do not spawn and therefore the abyss cannot be closed.

It has happened multiple times to me already.
