Cannot unlock portals during first Arbiter of Ash fight

If you are in the first Arbiter fight you cannot go to hideout even on another character in the same league to unlock your portals because it will kick your original character out of the fight. This means I'm basically stuck in an eternal time loop of skill issue unless I want to lose 2-3 Divines which is honestly kind of funny but ultimately very boring. This is because this setting is not a Game option but rather a Hideout option.

Edit: Scratch that, I was able to do it but not by Ctrl-clicking the other character.
