Sorceress Comet causes GPU driver timeout

When i cast or "cast on ailment" causes comet to cast as a sorceress i quite often get a GPU driver timeout and the driver has to restart itself. This sometimes cause my computer to restart itself. I have an AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT and I'm running the 25.12.1 driver, i know they ask to roll back the driver to before 12.10.2 for loading screen purposes but i play many other games and I'm not rolling back a graphics driver. I'm just posting this so poe2 dev team knows that the comet skill is causing a driver timeout.

I tried both add TdrDelay in registry and disable MPO but TDR still persist.

Try to change Upscale mode from FSR to NIS(DEFAULT) with no upscale, also max FPS cap to lower than your Monitor. it's better (Use raw power of GPU)

I think Comet's effect triggers high usage of GPU and Upscaling both FSR(AMD) and DLSS(Nvidia) can't handle at the time and Windows OS detect it as Driver timeout.

The solution i suggest didn't fix the issues. Just eliminate it.
I got Screen freeze & recover sometimes while spamming Comet. Can't confirm but the root cause is Comet's effect. (Even Raw GPU power without upscale can't handle)

Hope GGG fix the issue soon.

Same issue here. Only started happening a week ago or so.

Seems like i'm not alone then.

Came here to see if someone had the same problem. Usually i can play for like, 50~60 minutes, then the game crashes when comet procs (Cast on crit here).

Same. Comet triggered from Cast on Crit causing crashing on Blood Mage. Unsocketing Comet for Arc fixes crashing for me.

Also, my Comets cause my brother to crash repeatedly in multiplayer with me. He uses the same hardware as me.

Using AMD driver 26.1.1

AMD Ryzen 7 7700X
AMD Radeon RX 7800 XT

Same for me. Comet in CastonCrit now crashes the game since the .4 patch, or 1 of the hotfixes after. Replacing Comet with Arc stops the crashes.

cpu 5800 x3d
gpu Rx7900 XTX

Game seems to run better on Directx12 now whereas before this league I was always on Vulcan. Go figure.
